Quillan is a town and commune in the department of the Aude in the south west of France. It is located at the foothills of the Pyrenees and lies on the road from Carcassonne to Perpignan (D117). Quillan is surrounded by mountains and for the skiiers amongst us, the nearest ski station/s are approximately 1 hour drive away. For those days on the coast the Mediterranean is not far away either.

Quillan is known for white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking on the River Aude and Alet les Bains, Couiza and Axat are also other good places to visit for white water sports. Close by are Thermal Spas too (Alet les Bains and Rennes les Bains), for those relaxing days. There are also a number of Adventure Parks for those energetic days.

The tourist information office is the place to visit to plan your stay in and around Quillan. It has several restaurants and bars for you to choose from, along with a variety of shops, several banks, chemists and cinema a market every Wednesday and Saturday, a post office and it even has it's own train station linking it with Carcassonne, stopping at Esperaza and Limoux (TGV lines throughout France). Spain too can be easily accessed from Andorra to Barcelona.
